New drop-off site for used motor oil opens

A new drop-off site for used motor oil and filter recycling is now open near the Ramsey County Public Works Garage in Arden Hills. The site is located behind the County Public Works garage, on Ben Franklin Road, about 1/4 mile north of Hwy. 96 and 1/4 mile west of Hamline Avenue.

Former Knight Sailor posts big game

Former Irondale girls hockey player Melissa Sailor, now a member of the St. Olaf College women’s team, had a big game last weekend for the Oles. Sailor, a freshman, notched her first collegiate hat trick in leading St. Olaf to a 7-2 victory over St. Ben’s.

Viewettes dominate at Blaine and Stillwater

The Mounds View High School Viewettes dance team took first place in high kick and jazz funk Varsity AAA at the Blaine Invitational Jan. 7. Junior Varsity continued the winning streak by taking first place in jazz and third in high kick. More than 30 teams participated in the invitational.

MV swim team makes waves in true team format

Mounds View’s boys swimming and diving team made its first appearance at the Class AA state true team meet last Friday at the University of Minnesota’s Aquatic Center. The Mustangs finished fourth behind repeat champion Lakeville, runner-up Eden Prairie and third-place Burnsville.

SAVHS to present two one-act plays

St. Anthony Village High School will present two one-act plays: The Auditioners, directed by Kari Steinbach, and Wake Up Call, student-directed by Chris Johnsen. Both will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at the high school auditorium, 3303 33rd Ave. N.E., St. Anthony.
