The heat wave got a little hotter July 17 when North St. Paul firefighters responded to a report of a burning garage on South Avenue.

Fire Chief Scott Duddeck said the department received the call at 3:52 p.m. and the first units arrived two minutes later.

For the first time since 2001, both Tri-City American Legion baseball teams are taking part in district tournaments.
Tri-City Red is the defending Fourth District champion and will be trying to advance to the state tournament for the fifth consecutive year.

Snowboarding led Hamburger to All-America season

Following the 2005 prep baseball season, Mounds View High School's Mark Hamburger was looking for somewhere to attend college. He had baseball to consider, but more importantly he wanted to be able to snowboard during the winter months.
