Sign up for SSP Night to Unite

On Tuesday, Aug. 6, the City of South St. Paul is inviting all neighborhoods to join neighborhoods across the state for Minnesota’s Annual Night to Unite Event (formerly known as National Night Out.)

Neighborhoods are encouraged to plan get-togethers and spend the evening outdoors chatting with old friends and meeting new ones. Plan a block party for Aug. 6 and your neighborhood could enjoy a visit from South St. Paul Police, South Metro firefighters,  McGruff the Crime Dog, a coloring contest and more.

In addition, the South St. Paul Mayor’s Youth Task Force will kick off the 13th Annual “Fill the Backpack Campaign”. Last year, over 200 backpacks were filled for students at Lincoln Center and Kaposia Elementary Schools, the South St. Paul Junior and Senior High Schools.

If you are interested in hosting a South St. Paul, registration forms are on the city’s website at (click on Community Events Calendar) or by contacting Deb Griffith, Community Affairs Liaison at 651-554-3230 or
