Rosetown Playhouse honored by disability advocacy agency for including all community residents

Rosetown Playhouse in Roseville received the Community Innovator Award from The Arc Minnesota at The Arc Minnesota’s Awards Banquet on Nov. 1 at the Doubletree by Hilton Park Place Hotel in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.

The nomination submitted in support of Rosetown Playhouse praised the organization for “creating memorable experiences through entertaining productions.” 

Those nominating Rosetown Playhouse’s cited its “welcoming environment and belief that all persons have gifts to share and that individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities can successfully participate, make new friends, and be part of their community.” 

The community theater stages a major production each summer and an annual winter show. Rosetown Playhouse also provides stage and production experience through summer showcases and school outreach programs.

The Community Innovator Award is given to an individual, organization, or business that has developed a unique program, service, or idea that increased the community inclusion or self-determination of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.
