New North St. Paul logo shown Jan. 27

What the city is billing as “a new chapter for the community” — an official new North St. Paul logo — will be unveiled at City Hall Tuesday, Jan. 27 at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers.

Not only will attendees get their first look at a logo that reflects the city’s history and its vision for the future, they can enjoy refreshments and try their hands at a North St. Paul trivia contest.

Accessories and clothing with the new logo will be on display as well as information for ordering them.

Replacing the current logo, which dates back to the 1970s, an era which also saw the building of the snowman itself, has been in the city’s plans for several years. A University of Minnesota design class submitted designs in 2013, but none met the city council’s vision of an iconic, easy-to-use design.

City Manager Jason Ziemer, who came on board in the midst of the logo discussions, explains that the new logo marks the launch of a rebranding of the city, as planners outline new approaches to development and a new strategic plan.

City Hall is located at 2400 Margaret Street, with parking available in a lot across the street.
