WSP posts commission openings

The city of West St. Paul is accepting applications to several commissions and committees of its own, as well as groups that represent the city regionally.

Openings are in the following groups:

• Charter Commission, which frames and amends the charter document from which the city’s form, powers, and procedures are outlined

• Planning Commission, which makes recommendations to the City Council on comprehensive plans and zoning ordinance amendments; the group also conducts hearings for planning, permitting and variance requests

• the Recreation and Parks Advisory Committee, which advises the city council on park and recreation issues as well as working with other agencies and groups to provide programs
• Environmental/Greening committee, which brings a comprehensive overview to the city’s approaches to environmental sustainability, greening and beautification

• Lower Mississippi River Watershed Management Organization includes seven cities in northern Dakota County and southern Ramsey County and monitors water in an area where surface water ultimately discharges to the Mississippi River

• East Metro Strong, a public-private partnership of businesses, cities and counties working together to bring more and better transit investment to the east metro area.
