Thomas Richard CarlinSchauer
April 21, 1957 - December 18, 2014

Thomas Richard Schauer was born in St. Paul, Minnesota; to Richard and Virginia Schauer (Vadnais). Richard passed away when Tommie was one; Virginia then married Archie Patrick, who played a pivotal role throughout Tommie's life.
A 1975 graduate of Alexander Ramsey High School and 1979 graduate of University of St. Thomas, Tommie sought adventure which brought him to playing soccer for a brief stint in Europe before returning to Minnesota and starting a family. Tommie had two children-a daughter, Kyle, and a son, Neil; whom he taught the value of art and adventure. Tommie shared his passions with those around him - his own children, soccer, hockey, coaching, advocating for others and traveling. Tommie was a skilled motivator and quickly connected with the youth and families that he coached. His devotion and generosity were profound - always willing to "go the extra mile" for others.
Tommie had a keen sense of adventure-enjoying time with family in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Alaska, and Colorado throughout his life. Tommie passed away peacefully on December 18, 2014 after a brief battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard F. Schauer; mother, Virginia L. Patrick; step-father, Archie Patrick; brother, Craig Patrick; grandparents and uncles. He is survived by his children, Kyle CarlinSchauer and Neil CarlinSchauer; siblings, Terry Patrick (Karen); Nancy Gurney (Dave); Debbie Patrick; Julie Erickson (Jim); Linda Rourke (Paul); Michael Patrick; and many nieces and nephews. Service will be held at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel June 27, 2015 at 12:00.
