Enrichment Opportunities

The Benedictine Center, 2675 Benet Road, Maplewood, is offering these enrichment opportunities in early April.

• Hermitage Retreat, Friday, April 1 to Sunday, April 3, $150 (includes lodging and meals). Participants will have an opportunity to leave their busy lives behind and spend the weekend in silence, reading, praying, meditating and resting in the hospitality of the Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery.

• A Day of Quiet and Solitude, Saturday, April 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., $25. This day will show participants what a personal retreat is all about. It includes a tour and introductory session, a private room, prayer with the monastic community, lunch, and access to the monastic library, art exhibits and grounds. It will be led by Virginia Matter, a Benedictine Sister, spiritual director and teacher of centering prayer.

• An art exhibit, April 1 to June 2: Free and open to the public. It is part of the Benedictine Center’s “Art & Spirituality” series encouraging men and women to use color, form, sound and word to express their encounter with God’s own creativity.
