Roseville City Council member Lisa Laliberte has been appointed to the Metro Cities Board of Directors. Laliberte was recommended by a nominating committee and was officially elected to the board by the organization’s membership, which consists of 90 member cities, at the Metro Cities annual meeting.

The Metro Cities Board is comprised of 19 members and is balanced with respect to the geographical makeup of the seven-county metropolitan area. Board members serve two two-year terms. Laliberte recently completed an orientation and her first meeting as a board member took place in September.

Metro Cities was created in 1974 to represent the shared interests of cities in the seven-county metropolitan region at the Legislature on an array of issues including transportation, housing, economic development, land use, and state aids, among others. Metro Cities also represents the interests of metro cities at the Metropolitan Council.
