The Roseville Area High School boys basketball team opened its season recently with a pair of games sandwiched around an event that didn’t get results printed in the newspaper but deserved some recognition.

On the evening of Dec. 3, the boys basketball teams at Roseville teamed up with the City of Roseville’s first responders for a free throw-a-thon.

The players from all four teams were grouped into teams of 10 along with first responders. Each participant attempted 100 free throws. Roseville B-squad coach Braden Johnson recorded the top score by making 92.

Roseville head coach Kevin McKenzie and Jeff Lopez helped coordinate the event.
