Roseville native named to all-star squad

The hockey-playing Anderson brothers of Roseville have had quite the busy month. Earlier in January, older brother Joey helped Team USA win the World Junior Championship and last week younger brother Mikey appeared in the United States Hockey League’s Top Prospects game.

Mikey Anderson is a 17-year-old who is playing for the Waterloo Black Hawks in the USHL. He was one of 20 players on Team West who faced Team East on Jan. 10 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Anderson and Team West won the game 4-0 thanks to a 25-save performance from the team’s two goaltenders. Anderson didn’t record a point in the game but did finish plus one.

Through 25 games this season, Anderson has one goal and 14 assists and is a plus-three. Last year, he played in 57 regular-season games and nine playoff games. In those nine playoff contests, Anderson scored three goals and notched two assists for the Black Hawks.

Anderson is committed to the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he will play with older brother Joey next season. Joey is a Bulldogs freshman this season.
