National Night Out

National Night Out, which takes place Tuesday evening, Aug.1, is a nationwide event designed to build partnerships, strengthen relationships between neighbors and law enforcement, and raise crime prevention awareness across the nation.

The East Side will have quite a few block parties going on Tuesday evening. Many neighbors will be hosting residential block parties at a variety of locations on the East Side. Here are just a few of the many National Night Out events taking place around the East Side:

 

• Hayden Heights Recreation Center, 1965 Hoyt Ave. E., 6-8 p.m.

• Faith Baptist Church, 1365 Westminster St., 6-8 p.m.

• Epworth Methodist Church, 1965 Sherwood Ave., 6-8:30 p.m.

• American Legion Post 577, 1129 Arcade St., 6-8 p.m.

• Boys & Girls Club East Side, 1620 Ames Ave. E., 5-7 p.m.

• John A. Johnson Elementary School, 740 York Ave., 6-9 p.m.

• Archdiocese of St. Paul, 777 Forest St. N., 5-8 p.m.

• Hazel Park United Church, 1831 Minnehaha Ave. E., 5:30-7:30 p.m.

• Upper Swede Hollow Park, Greenbrier Street at Margaret & Beech streets, 6-9 p.m.

• Dellwood Gardens Assisted Living, 753 East Seventh St., 2-7 p.m.

• Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 674 Johnson Parkway, 6-8 p.m.

• Eastview Recreation Center, 1675 Fifth St. E., 6-8 p.m.

• Mounds Park United Methodist Church, 1049 Euclid St., 6-8 p.m.

• Mounds Park Pavilion at Indian Mounds Park, 10 Mounds Boulevard, 6:30-8 p.m.
