Inver Grove Heights Police launches first annual community safety survey

The Inver Grove Heights Police Department invites all who live, work, or visit the City of Inver Grove Heights to provide feedback and input on issues of community safety, quality-of-life, and policing. The online survey, which takes about 10 minutes to complete, can be obtained by visiting the city’s website at
or the city’s Facebook page at

The survey is being launched to help police personnel and city officials better understand the community safety perceptions, as well as, the public safety concerns of residents, business owners, and those who work for an Inver Grove Heights-based business. Those who regularly visit or travel through Inver Grove Heights are invited to complete the survey as well.

The survey is completely anonymous and covers a range of questions, including: geographic and demographic background, perceptions of safety, and policing priority preferences.

“Inver Grove Heights is experiencing significant growth and it is the police department’s top priority to maintain the safety and quality of life our residents and business community have come to expect,” said Inver Grove Heights Police Chief Paul Schnell. “The information received from this survey will help members of the police department formulate our policing strategy for the next year,” Schnell added.

The survey will remain posted through Jan. 12, 2018.
Residents without access to the internet can call the Inver Grove Heights Police Department at 651-450-2525 to receive a paper version of the survey by U.S. Mail.
