Inquiring Minds: Requesting books on the website

Q. Up until a few weeks ago, I could search for and request books on your website from my home computer. Now my searches show only a blank screen. I have a MAC and I normally use the Firefox browser. Is there something I need to update in my computer?

A. Have you checked to see if you have the latest version of Adobe Flash installed in your web browser? You can find the free update here: www.get.adobe.com/flashplayer. Sometimes, an older version of Adobe Flash can be the reason why our catalog won’t load on your computer. You can also try clicking to the left of the web browser’s address bar where there might be an icon that looks like a Lego brick. If the message you get is that the Adobe Flash plug-in is disabled because it is out of date, you can also choose to enable it.

If this doesn’t work, you might also try using a different browser like Internet Explorer.
