Payne-Phalen meeting

The Payne-Phalen Community Council will hold their monthly board meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Arlington Hills Community Center, 1200 Payne Ave. The agenda will include a license application for JoyRide Inc., an auto repair garage at 1324 Arcade St. 


Dayton’s Bluff meeting

The Dayton’s Bluff Community Council will hold their monthly board meeting on Monday, Feb. 26 from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the East Side Enterprise Center, 804 Margaret St. Normally meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, but because of the Presidents’ Day holiday, the meeting was rescheduled. The agenda includes neighborhood development items related to senior gardens, new housing and news from Metropolitan State University. The meeting will also include updates in the new executive director search, as well as financial updates. For more information visit www.daytonsbluff.org.


League of Women Voters St. Paul coffee social

The League of Women Voters St. Paul is starting a new, monthly coffee social this spring and the first one will take place on Monday, March 5 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the West Seventh Mississippi Market, 1500 West Seventh St. These informal meetings offer an opportunity for newer members to get answers to any lingering questions about the League and are an opportunity to introduce the League to someone who does not yet belong. The March 5 meeting also will be an opportunity to learn about Ramsey County government.  All four of the commissioners who presently represent St. Paul are up for election and will be on the ballot in November. Visitors can buy an item from the deli and bring it to the meeting. Beverages will be provided. Guests are asked to park on the street or in the furthest reaches of the market’s parking lot. 


Law Enforcement Education and Employment fair

Century College in White Bear Lake will host a Law Enforcement Education and Employment fair on Wednesday, March 7 from 2 to 5 p.m., 3300 Century Ave. N., White Bear Lake. The event will provide an opportunity to learn about educational and employment options in law enforcement by talking with law enforcement faculty, discussing class options with academic advisors for the summer and fall, learning more about the admissions process and financial aid options. Representatives from the following departments will be at the fair to talk with prospective students:

• Federal Reserve Police

• Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office

• Lino Lakes Public Safety

•  Maplewood Police

• Minnesota Department of Corrections

East Side Table

The East Side Table is holding a meeting on Thursday, March 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 463 Maria Ave. The meeting is geared towards seniors to learn about a new resources to access healthy and affordable food. The meeting will include a free lunch, but visitors must reserve a spot ahead of time by calling 651-300-2505 or sending an email to info@EastSideTable.org. Visitors who may need a ride to the meeting can mention it when they make their reservation.
