Eastsiders: primary election is Aug. 14

The state primary is coming up on Tuesday, Aug. 14, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The primary election serves as an opportunity for voters to choose which candidates from the their political party they want to have on the ballot for the fall’s general election on Nov. 6. Most East Siders will be voting for their preferred candidates for both U.S. Senate seats, the 4th Congressional District, Minnesota governor, Minnesota Attorney General and for a few district court judges. For the few East Siders who reside in Minnesota House District 66B, there are two candidates — Trahern Crews and John Lesch — vying for the DFL candidate slot.
