Get to know more about our Martian neighbor

Join the South St. Paul Mayor’s Youth Task Force for a Starwatch Party with WCCO Radio Meteorologist Mike Lynch on Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. The Starwatch Party will take place at Fleming Field, 1725 Henry Avenue, in South St. Paul. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. with the program starting at 8 p.m. This is a free event to attend sponsored by the South St. Paul Mayor’s Youth Task Force. The evening will begin indoors for a brief orientation and then the group will head outside to view the planet Mars which will be the “star” attraction.  Mars is as close as it’s been to Earth in the last 15 years. There will be giant telescopes aimed at Mars as well as the moon, Jupiter, Saturn and other great celestial treasures. Visitors can also check out the constellations like The Big Bear, Cygnus the Swan, Pegasus the Winged Horse, and some of their great stories behind them.
