Students at St. Charles Borromeo School in St. Anthony purchased a Labrador puppy to donate to Paws Assisting Wounded Warriors (PAWWS) to be trained to help a veteran who’s re-entering civilian life. Middle school students in St. Charles’ “Charge to Serve” group raised the money to purchase the puppy, named Charger, thanks to a DJ, who donated his time and services for school dances, so that the students could save their money for a charitable act. Students researched PAWWS and coordinated the marketing and fundraising. The puppy visited the school on Dec. 10 to meet students and deliver a surprise gift.
