The store on Rice Street is a go-to for small repairs and equipment rentals.

While Minnesota winters can be harsh, spring is always worth the wait, and Hardware Hank is ready to get everyone’s spring started right with its annual Flower Mart. Every year from the end of April through the end of June, Hardware Hank brings out the best flowers to help bring life back to your garden.

Owner Jim Schwalbach says the annual Mother’s Day weekend sale always gets his store humming.

“With the sale we also bring back our Flower Mart employees, flower experts who are passionate about gardening,” Schwalbach says. “They care for the plants through the months so we can have good, fresh products out. They can also help with recommendations, even making house calls to find the best match.”

Along with the opening sale on Mother’s Day weekend, Memorial Day weekend will also feature great deals on select flowers.

To make sure your yard stays in tip-top shape, Hardware Hank will also be offering deals on name-brand lawn mowers. Toro and Ariens will be on sale for the summer, with discounts on both walk-behind and riding mowers.

“We also have the full line of Weber gas and charcoal grills,” Schwalbach says, pointing out that includes the newly redesigned line of Genesis grills, hot for the summer.

Customers don’t even have to worry about setting up their new grill — Hardware Hank offers assembly and delivery to get you cooking fast.

If you’re planning a graduation party or other big summer get-together, Hardware Hank is there to help. It offers lawn equipment rentals to get your outdoor space in order, as well as tables and chairs to accomodate your guests. For bigger prep jobs, power rakes, garden tillers and log splitters are also available to rent.

If you have your own equipment but it’s seen better days, Hardware Hank also offers repair service. The shop will not only get everything running smoothly for the season, but will pick up and then return equipment when it’s ready to go.

Beyond all the hardware essentials, Hardware Hank is proud to offer Nutrisource cat and dog food, so that your furry friends can get the best out of the summer with the rest of the family. The store offers a loyalty program where customers get the 13th bag of food for free.

Hardware Hank proudly helps schools and local organizations with fundraising. From backing high school sports teams to elder care, the store is proud to give back to its community.

It’s no wonder that Hardware Hank supports the community — it’s been in the family for more than 50 years and those who work there are in it for the long term.

“My uncle bought this location back in 1965, and I’ve been here for 43 years,” Schwalbach says. “Four of our employees have been here 20-plus years.”

From gardening to grilling, parties to basic lawn care, customers have put their trust in Hardware Hank for more than half a century. From trusted employees, to giving back to the community, the local hardware store is an important part of the community and the best one-stop shop for all summer needs.
