NEWSBRIEF: Shoreview nonprofit recognized for giving

A Shoreview organization was recognized on March 1 as an affiliate of the Saint Paul Foundation, which has given more than $1 billion alongside the Minnesota Community Foundation.

The billion-dollar milestone of the Saint Paul and Minnesota Foundations come after 75 years of nonprofit work, according to a press release. Last year, some 8,300 grants went out to 71 Minnesota counties.

Formed in 2008, the Shoreview Community Foundation is an affiliate of the Saint Paul Foundation. The news release said that the Shoreview entity awarded six grants last year, including to the Ralph Reeder Food Shelf and Midwest Special Services.

“As a volunteer organization, it is a true advantage to be able to work with the staff of the Foundations as they readily offer advice and support in fundraising, donor appreciation and leadership, in addition to providing administrative support for the management of our endowment and financial records,” said Shoreview Community Foundation board chair Nancy Hite in the release.
