Man arrested for stabbing 2 women at Roseville motel

Both women expected to survive

Police arrested a blood-covered man a few blocks from a Roseville motel where two women were found stabbed the morning of March 28.

The man, a 23-year-old from Eden Prairie, is suspected of stabbing both women, who were taken to the hospital with injuries that police said were not life threatening.

According to a Roseville Police Department release, officers headed to the Motel 6 in the 2300 block of Cleveland Avenue at 6:45 a.m. on a report of a disturbance — witnesses had said they saw a woman covered in blood run from a room.

Officers found two woman, ages 24 and 20, who’d both been stabbed multiple times, along with an uninjured 3-year-old, the child of the 24-year-old woman, police said.

As stated in the release, the 24-year-old, her child and the woman’s friend spent the night at the motel. The man, who is the older woman’s ex-husband, showed up and stabbed both women in their room.

He fled the scene and police said they found a knife in the motel room. The man was arrested without incident; he was bloody but hadn’t been injured.

Police are investigating what led to the stabbings. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call Roseville police at 651-792-7008 or submit a tip online at www.cityofroseville.com/3194/Crime-Tips.

Police said the case eventually will be turned over to the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for charges.
