A 64-year-old St. Paul woman told deputies the afternoon of April 11 that someone had hit her car in the parking lot of Pot O’ Gold Bingo in the 3700 block of Connelly Avenue and then drove off.

 

Oh deer

A kind-hearted motorist alerted deputies the morning of April 8 to an injured deer on the northbound side of Snelling Avenue at County Road E, but when they went to check it out, the animal was gone.

 

Robbery

A 55-year-old woman was robbed of $2,000 by a man who grabbed a cash-filled envelope from her as she exited her bank April 13 in the 1200 block of County Road E. The man ran off; police are investigating.

 

 

Falcon Heights

Domestic assault

The 52-year-old mother of a 31-year-old daughter told police she was slapped by her child the morning of April 8; the younger woman was arrested and cited for misdemeanor domestic assault, fifth-degree assault and disorderly conduct.

 

Found purse

Someone turned a purse found April 13 on the sidewalk near the Bell Museum in the 2000 block of Larpenteur Avenue over to a deputy. The handbag was returned to its owner, a 22-year-old from St. Paul.

 

 

Lauderdale

Those flashing lights

It was all traffic stops the week of April 1 to 7 in Lauderdale. The highlight was perhaps the 24-year-old man stopped April 4 on Larpenteur Avenue at Eustis Street who was cited and released for driving without insurance. A 27-year-old woman in the car, its owner, was arrested, cited and released for failing to transfer the car’s title within 10 days and for allowing the operation of her uninsured vehicle.

 

 

Little Canada

Assault, robbery

A 30-year-old Minneapolis woman called the police April 7 to report that she’d been assaulted and robbed of her phone in the early morning hours the day prior outside the Flameburger in the 2500 block of Rice Street.

Dog bites dog

Deputies headed to a home in the 200 block of Twin Lake Trail the morning of April 9 after a 5-year-old male golden retriever burst through its fence and attacked an 11-year-old female fox terrier.

 

Dog chases child

In a continuation of an apparently ongoing issue, a caller who lives in the 3000 block of Labore Road told police April 9 that an unleashed dog being walked by its owner on the Thunder Bay Park trail entered the caller’s yard and chased their child.

 

DUI

An off-duty deputy working at apartments April 13 in the 300 block of Labore Road noticed a driver who’d previously been seen slumped over the wheel in Maplewood in their vicinity. The deputy went ahead and arrested the driver, a 42-year-old Little Canada woman, for third-degree DUI. She was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

 

Stolen security cameras

Management at the Hmong Minnesota Senior Center in the 2900 block of Little Canada Road told police April 7 that a man had been stealing security cameras from their building’s exterior.

 

 

Mounds View

Arrests

An officer stopped a 35-year-old St. Paul man on Mounds View Boulevard at Prior Avenue in the early morning hours of April 7 and arrested him for an outstanding Wright County burglary warrant. He was booked at the Ramsey County Jail.

 

A 26-year-old Mounds View man was arrested the afternoon of April 8 at his home in the 4000 block of Glenhaven Lane for two separate drug warrants and first-degree possession of a large amount of cocaine or methamphetamine.

 

Runaway dog

Police were told the night of April 9 about a dog running in the road in the area of Mounds View Boulevard and Silver Lake Road. The dog was possibly hit by a vehicle, but officers never tracked it down.

 

 

New Brighton

Dispatch from the opioid crisis

An officer and an EMT used Narcan to revive an apparently overdosed woman from Detroit Lakes the evening of April 15 after she was found unconscious in her car on the Interstate 35W off-ramp at Fifth Street. The 28-year-old, who’d been using heroin, was arrested for multiple outstanding felony warrants after her release from the hospital.

 

Gas/go

A driver left without paying for $43.97 worth of gas from the service station in the 200 block of County Road E2 the afternoon of April 12.

 

Uncivil cyclist

Police cited a 37-year-old cyclist April 16 following a morning commute altercation with a tow truck driver on Highway 8 at County Road D. The cyclist, apparently unhappy with the truck driver’s driving, got off his bike and approached the truck, which was stopped at the intersection. A witness said the man ripped off the truck’s side mirror and then punched the driver through the window; the driver got out and punched the cyclist a couple times before driving off.

 

Snatch and run

The night of April 17 at the Dollar Store in the 2100 block of Silver Lake Road a teenage boy went to pay for some candy and when the clerk opened the register, the teen grabbed cash and ran off with another boy. In all, the two made off with $55.68.

 

Shoreview

Assault

Deputies headed to the Shoreview Community Center the afternoon of April 7 on a report of an assault. They cited a 51-year-old St. Paul woman for assaulting someone younger than 18.

 

If a sign falls in...

A 56-year-old man told police April 9 that while stopped at a light in the turn lane at the intersection of Highway 96 and Hodgson Road a street sign fell and damaged his car

 

Shots fired?

Deputies checked out a report of shots fired that came in 55 minutes after midnight April 13 in the 4100 block of Lexington Avenue and found nothing.

 

Stolen, burned car

A 30-year-old woman told police April 13 that her 29-year-old ex-boyfriend had stolen her car. The vehicle was found in Brooklyn Park burned and a total loss; police are investigating.

 

 

St. Anthony

Domestic assault

A 67-year-old woman told police April 1 that her 68-year-old husband had assaulted her. He was arrested and booked at the Ramsey County Jail for misdemeanor domestic assault.

 

Hubcaps

A 62-year-old woman told police April 5 that someone had nicked two of the hubcaps off her vehicle while it was parked at Nativity Church in the 3300 block of silver Lake Road, a loss of about $196.

 

Time to lock up

A 40-year-old woman who lives in the 2400 block of 27th Avenue told police April 4 that someone had entered her unlocked garage and rummaged through it and her unlocked vehicle. She said nothing seemed to be taken. Then on April 5, a 53-year-old man who lives in the 3600 block of Roosevelt Street told police his two unlocked vehicles had been entered and rummaged through overnight, though nothing appeared to have been stolen.

 

Plate swap

A 57-year-old woman who lives in the 3200 block of Old Highway 8 told police April 4 that someone had switched the license plates on her vehicle — the plates she’d ended up with were registered to a car stolen out of New Brighton that matched the description of her car. Police took the plates as evidence, and entered the woman’s actual plate number into the computer as stolen.
