Building season

Members of the Mounds View Public School Board ceremoniously broke ground on April 23 at Edgewood Middle School to celebrate the kick-off of construction season across the district. A $165 million bond referendum, passed overwhelmingly by voters in 2017, will be distributed among area schools to expand and improve existing facilities in response to the steadily growing number of students. At the ceremony, community members were able to gather and look at plans for added classrooms and improved facilities for special education, music and sports across various school buildings. The referendum — which covers only a portion of the recommended $252 million upgrades — passed with 73 percent of the vote.
