Oakdale Support Group for Families

National Alliance on Mental Illness Minnesota sponsors free support groups for families and friends of individuals living
with a mental illness in Oakdale on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, starting at 6 p.m., at Canvas Health in
the community room. Led by trained facilitators who also have a family member with mental illness, the support groups
help families develop better coping skills and find strength through sharing their experiences. Canvas Health is located at

North St. Paul 50 year reunion

Tartan class of 1979 reunion

The Tartan High School Class of 1979 is having its 40th class reunion on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019 from 6:30 p.m. to
11:30 p.m. at Doubletree by Hilton St. Paul East. Cost is $20 if paid by Aug. 15 or $30 at the door. Appetizers are

Oakdale Library events

T(w)een Thursdays: DIY Pop Sockets: This event is Thursday, June 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Teens and almost-teens, come to the Oakdale Library every
Thursday this summer to curb your boredom and hang out with friends. A new activity each week, plus Nintendo Switch
and computer gaming will be featured. Bring friends or make new ones. The event is for ages 10 and up. No
registration is required.

Lake Elmo Library events

Service Dog Demonstration from Paw Pads: This event is Tuesday, June 18 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Pawsitive Perspectives Assistance Dogs (PawPADs) is a nonprofit
service dog training organization out of Lakeville that dual trains dogs to work with individuals with physical disabilities or Type 1 Diabetes. For the presentation at Lake Elmo Library, participants will discuss the importance of service dogs as well as how
to react when you see a service dog in public. The ambassador dog, Tory, will also be joining to show some of the
tasks dogs learn to assist their future partner. No registration is required.

Author Talk- Allen Eskens: This event is Tuesday, June 18 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Allen Eskens is the bestselling author of “The Life We Bury,”
“The Guise of Another,” “The Heavens May Fall,” “The Deep Dark Descending,” and “The Shadows We Hide.” His novel, “The Life We Bury” is  in development for a feature film. This program is sponsored by The Friends of Lake Elmo Library. No registration is required.

Jason Huneke’s Juggling Show: This event is Wednesday, June 19 from 3 to 4 p.m. Jason Huneke’s Magic Show is a fun, fast paced comedy juggling show for kids of all ages. This program at Lake Elmo Library is packed with juggling, balancing, unicycling and a top hat manipulation routine. No registration is required.
