The North High boys hockey squad is looking forward to a stellar season.
Coach Jerry Diebel stated recently, “We are returning 14 seniors. Most of those returning to our team are coming back with varsity experience.

Girls hockey: North opens season with shutout over Park of CG

The North High Polars opened the girls hockey season Tuesday, Nov. 12, at Polar Arena with a triumph over the Park of Cottage Grove Wolfpack.
The Polars had a stellar performance from goalie Marit Larson, who stopped all of the 24 missiles Park fired at her.

Boys soccer: North High boys soccer team tops in the state

The celebration was loud, long and real. And the gathered North High fans at the Metrodome Oct. 31 were not celebrating anything that had to do with Halloween.
The exuberant fans were cheering their heroes who were assembled in front of them to collect their gold medals after just winning the Minnesota Boys State Class AA Soccer Tournament.
It was an exciting finish to an exciting game and an exciting season for the Polars.

Boys Soccer: Polars hand Prairie Seeds their first state tournament loss

On a chilly night at Chisago Lakes High School, the North High Polars took on Prairie Seeds Academy of Brooklyn Park in the opening round of the Class AA Minnesota State High School Boy’ Soccer touranment
Coming into the contest, the Prairie Seeds Academy Lycans—champions of Section 5AA—were undefeated with a record of 14-0-0. The Polars, the Section 4AA champions, entered the tournament with a mark of 17-1-1.

Volleyball: Pioneers find a way to sideline Polars

If you were not a part of the jam-packed, wildly cheering crowd at Hill-Murray Field House Oct. 15, then you missed one of the very best volleyball matches between rivals that has been played since the inception of the sport over three decades ago.
The match went five games and provided everything that anyone could ever ask for from two well-matched adversaries.

Boys soccer: North moves to brink of state tournament with win over Cretin

The North High boys soccer team took another step last week toward earning a trip to the state Class AA tournament.
The Polars took on the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders in the semifinals of section play Oct. 10 and finished on top, 3-1.

Football: Tartan tops North, Hill-Murray runs roughshod over Richfield

The regular football season wrapped up Oct. 16 with the North Polars traveling to Titanville and dropping a 40-21 decision to archrival Tartan.
The Hill-Murray Pioneers ended the season on a winning note by running away from Richfield to the tune of a 48-7 romp.

The No. 1-seeded North High boys soccer team faced the East Ridge Raptors (third seed) Oct. 15 in the Section 4AA championship game at North Field.

A year ago, it was East Ridge of Woodbury that abruptly ended the North season after posting a record of 16-0 heading into the semifinal playoff action.

Volleyball: North reloads for 2013

For several hard-fought seasons, the North High Polars have been on the threshold of the top Classic Suburban Conference volleyball standings.
But the Polars have just been unable to take the final step into the championship role. But that could change this fall.
