Is bus rapid transit the future of Oakdale?

Residents question the need for additional bus lanes 
"Lake Elmo said no; why can't we?" was the question repeated by many Oakdale residents during a heated town hall meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 13.
The Lake Elmo City Council recently rejected a proposal for a bus rapid transit line to run along the town's southern border. It was an unexpected turn-around, as the council had previously voted unanimously in support of the proposed public transit line near Interstate 94.

Local organization uses art to help seniors

The sound of fists pounding clay fills the dining area in Oak Meadows memory care unit.
Residents busily chat on a Tuesday afternoon as they take part in an eight-week clay course. Claire O'Connor from Northern Clay Center has been helping the seniors create everything from tiles to baskets to animals.

A ‘spooktacular’ display

For the past 15 years Keith Martinson of Oakdale has been putting up a Halloween display that delights the neighborhood and those who drive by.

“I like it, and the kids love it,” says Martinson, who lives at 7669 18th St. N. in Oakdale.
