Local inline skaters compete in Apostle Island Inline Marathon

Following the recent trend at the Winter Olympics, Midway speedskaters are doing more crosstraining on inline skates and competing during the summer.

Marchers go from East Side to City Hall condemning separation of children


Marjorie Otto/Review • A group of about 100 community members gathered at Indigenous Roots Cultural Arts Center in Dayton’s Bluff and marched to St. Paul City Hall June 20 to protest the Trump administration’s policy of separating children from families after being detained at the U.S. southern border.

Dakota County to get SMARTer

Roseville priest, pastor of both Saint Rose and Corpus Christi, set to retire

Fitzpatrick retires July 1 after 13 years as pastor at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church and six years as pastor of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. The priest of 45 years serves a dual role as pastor of both Roseville churches.

As the Rev. Robert Fitzpatrick holds court in his Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church office looking back on his near half century as a priest, one story in particular moves him most.

Sheriff’s office holds women’s academy, with aims of outreach and empowerment


Solomon Gustavo • Some 30-or-so women participated in the first-ever Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office women’s academy in Arden Hills as seen June 12. The free academy, which aimed to inform women about law enforcement careers and to empower them, ran June 11-15.

On day two of the inaugural Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office women’s academy, the 30 or so women in the program poured out of a conference room-turned-classroom and into the Arden Hills patrol station parking lot for a group picture.

St. Anthony police open house: the cops want to hear from you
