Enrichment opportunities offered at Benedictine Center

The Benedictine Center, 2675 Larpenteur Avenue East in Maplewood is offering the following opportunities to help participants find the time and tools they need to lead more meaningful lives. Such lives are not focused on power, money or fame, but on a journey toward self-discovery and connection with others.

• Taking the Common Good Seriously, Thursday, Nov. 9, 7 to 9 p.m. $10. Is this idea left over from simpler times or a compelling vision challenging everyone in the 21st century? Led by Bernard Evans, associate professor at St. John's School of Theology.

• Centering Prayer and Lectio Divina Retreat, Friday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. The cost is $130 which includes lodging and meals. Experience a weekend of profound silence and praying with Scriptures. Virginia Matter, OSB, will guide retreatants.
