In Memory: Richard Bolin

Richard M. Bolin, 72, of Mason City, died on Mar. 17 at Hospice of North Iowa following an extended illness.

Richard Michael Bolin was born Jan. 2, 1940 in North St. Paul, the son of Alton and Grace Bolin. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was united in marriage to Shirley on Dec. 31, 1981 in St. Paul. He was employed in the automotive financial and insurance industry for more than 50 years, retiring in 1989. Richard enjoyed his membership and close friends at the VFW Post #733.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jerry and a sister, Joy.

Surviving are his wife of 31 years, Shirley; his children, Monica Bolin (Ron) of Lincoln, Neb., Derek Bolin of California, Robert Hoyt (Melody) of Eckleson, N.D,, and Timothy Hoyt (Carissa) of New Hope, Minn.; his grandchildren, Zakary, Kyah, Tryston, Ashley and Nicholas; his siblings, David Bolin of Burnsville, and Natalie Bolin of Minnesota; and close family friends, Stephanie Gorder (Mark) and their family of Mason City.

Arrangements entrusted to Iowa Cremation.
