PFLAG Meeting at Woodbury United Methodist



Parents, Families, and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) will hold its next meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 13, at the Woodbury United Methodist Church, 7465 Steepleview Drive. After the panel discussion and a refreshment break, there will be a support and discussion session facilitated by PFLAG leaders from 4-5 p.m..

The meeting will feature a panel of actors, directors, producers, drama critics, and other well-known Twin Cities theater people who will discuss and compare their experiences with GLBT-themed theater intended for mainstream, general-public audiences. The casts and creative teams of recent Twin Cities productions of "Farm Boys," "The Boys in the Band," "La Cage aux Folles," and "I Am My Own Wife" have been invited to participate. Among those who will be on the panel are Harlan Chambers, Muriel Bonertz, and Joe Leary ("Farm Boys" cast); Mark Webb and Richard Jackson (Starting Gate Productions, "Boys in the Band"); Kevin Hansen (Minneapolis Musical Theatre, "La Cage aux Folles" cast); Bradley Greenwald ("I Am My Own Wife" cast); Tod Petersen ("A Christmas Carole Petersen"); John Townsend (theater critic for Lavender Magazine, Pulse, Star Tribune, past president of Minnesota Association of Community Theatres); Louisa Hext (Outward Spiral Theatre Company). Retired producer/director Ken Moses will moderate the discussion.
