Roseville boys also chasing league crown

Roseville’s boys hockey team also is battling for SEC supremacy but it has a its work cut out for it in that pursuit. The Raiders began the week tied with White Bear Lake for second place in the conference and both teams are trying to catch league-leading Cretin-Derham Hall.
All three teams have five games remaining and with a four-point lead in the standings, Cretin is in the catbird’s seat. CDH holds a four-point lead over White Bear and Roseville and still has rematches with both squads yet on the schedule. Cretin’s lone conference loss came against White Bear and the Raiders’ shot at revenge comes Feb. 11.
White Bear suffered its three conference losses in consecutive games to Hastings, Roseville and Stillwater. The Bears snapped their slide Saturday with a win over Woodbury. White Bear Lake and Roseville close out the regular season Feb. 16 at Aldrich Arena.
Roseville’s two conference losses came against Cretin and Hastings and the ties came against Stillwater and Hastings. Roseville hosts Stillwater on Thursday and plays at Woodbury on Saturday.
